What kind of Unconference?

What kind of unconference would YOU like to see in Cincinnati?

If we opt to do a Podcamp (http://www.podcamp.org), I strongly believe it shouldn't interfere with Podcamp Ohio 2 (http://www.podcampohio.com), tentatively scheduled for June 20, 2009. Moreover, we must follow the rules of Podcamp. Some have suggested that we do a New Media Cincinnati-branded unconference. What do you think? Leave your comments in the discussion below.

Why and unconference and not a Conference? Half of the "un"-conferences are charging fees to cover the floor space, etc. Why not set up a real, professional confernce. The "Mid-West New Media Conference" or "NMC Central" or "Social and New Media Expo" - Tons of time spent setting up an "Un"conference goes into finding a free or cheap venue, free or cheap stuff, etc. Charge a small fee ($100 or less) Sell vendor booth space ($100's to $1000s) and ensure that you have the resources to do it right and GROW it for the future. If all goes well the first year, then it may need some paid staff and viola! I've found Dan a new Job! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
